Wonderful encouragement, pastor. I wasn't able to listen on the 4th, but in God's blessed providence, I did this morning. My wife has been in California since early September and I joined her in mid-November, as my mother has stage 4 cancer. I have been enjoying the patience and perseverance of our congregation in Alaska, praying for us, missing us, loving us, and looking forward to our rejoining them. Last night, we had our youngest grandson spend the night, joining us in family worship. Although he cannot yet read the Scriptures, he followed along as we read; though he doesn't have Spurgeon's Puritan Catechism memorized, he mumbles along as I read the questions and my wife and I recite the answers; and though he doesn't know all the words to some of the old hymns and Scottish Psalter, he sings along best he can to those rich tunes. I truly enjoyed worshiping with him, and hearing your exhortation this morning, reminded me of that rich, unspeakable joy. My mother does not know the Lord, and though I've shared the gospel with her over the past four decades, my wife and I have enjoyed lavishing Christ's love upon her. Perhaps she needs to hear the gospel from another so I may have a Reformed Baptist pastor friend of mine come by, or perhaps a Free Presbyterian minister in the area. At any rate, truly, as you've said, there is joy unspeakable in All the graces of our good God and Savior. Bless you, dear brother, for your service to our Christ and to His people. You, your family, and Christ's congregation in your care are in our prayers.
